Natural Bridge State Park in Slade, KY ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This beautiful park is located near Red River Gorge and Daniel Boone National Forest.
This was our first hike. A little backstory to how we came about in Slade, KY. Robert saw video of the Gorge Underground on Facebook. It is underground kayaking, they do group tours. So we picked a weekend and booked the tickets for The Gorge Underground and two hotel rooms.
This was a long weekend getaway with the kids. I did a little research on the area and found that there was a natural bridge and some other things that peaked my interest. For those who don't know me, I absolutely love the mountains.
Our tickets for The Gorge Underground were in the early afternoon, so we decided to check out this natural bridge before the kayaking tour.
The trailhead was easy to find and it was very well marked. With it being in the mountains, the hike was all up hill. Being newbies, I found it a little difficult but not too bad. The trip down was harder for me, due to my knees.
I really enjoyed the hike. It was a little warm but it was beautiful. I think we were overall prepared, we had water and a few snacks. We wore comfortable clothes and shoes.
