The optical illusion is a testament to the pristine beauty and serenity of the underground environment.  A unique feature of Luray Caverns is the Great Stalacpipe Organ, an extraordinary musical instrument that utilizes the natural formations to create music. By gently tapping certain stalactites with rubber-tipped mallets, the organ produces hauntingly beautiful tones that resonate throughout the caverns.
